Wound Education for Indigenous Communities
This skill-based video series demonstrates best practices in wound care when cultural safety and trauma-informed care are embedded in every client-clinician interaction. Through realistic examples of clinician-client visits, the series highlights key areas of practice, including wound bed preparation, offloading techniques (Darco Shoe, Peg Assist Insole, and Total Contact Casting), lower leg assessment, ankle brachial pressure indices (ABIs), compression therapy, footwear assessment, basic foot care, and diabetic foot screening.
Each video models compassionate, respectful, and evidence-based care that prioritizes client well-being.

Wound Education for Indigenous Communities is a one-time funded project through the First Nations and Inuit Home and Community Care Program. The goal of this project is to build skills and share best practices in wound care for those working in communities across Ontario.
To understand how this project is helping, we collect some basic information—such as how many learning modules are completed and whether quizzes are taken. Your name will not appear in any reports or summaries that come from this project.
There is also an optional feedback section where you can share your thoughts about the learning experience. You might tell us what worked well or what could be improved. Your feedback helps us design future learning opportunities that are more useful and meaningful for you and your community.
If you would like to receive a certificate of completion, your name is required. However, if you prefer, you may use an alias instead.
The quizzes are optional for learning, but you must complete them to receive your certificate.
